Dr. Gao is a staff neuropathologist at University Health Network. He earned his MD at the University of Toronto and completed residency training in neuropathology at the same institution. During his residency, he completed an MSc in neurodegenerative neuropathology and was awarded a PARO Resident Teaching Award for outstanding leadership and dedication to medical education.

Research Synopsis

My academic interests include neuropathology of neuromuscular, neurodegenerative, and neoplastic diseases, medical education, and digital pathology.
