Message from the LMP Graduate Coordinators

Welcome to the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology!

We are delighted to invite you to explore our website to learn about the cutting-edge biomedical research and education available to you as you pursue and achieve exceptional MSc and PhD degrees. Our graduate program, one of the largest and most diverse at the University, spans basic, translational and clinical research. Although your graduate training will take place in one of several research nodes at the heart of Toronto’s Discovery District including campus-based centres at the Medical Sciences Building and MaRS, as well as University-affiliated research institutes at the Hospital for Sick Children, St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto Western, Sunnybrook Hospital, and Mount Sinai Hospital, your academic home is LMP.

The LMP motto is ‘Investigating disease. Impacting health’. We have over 300 faculty members and approximately 200 graduate students contributing to our vibrant research and educational community that fosters exceptional innovation and discovery to achieve our overarching missions to deconstruct complex disease mechanisms and to improve health care. Our acclaimed faculty and trainees are engaged in many exciting areas of investigation ranging from molecular and cellular biology to genomics and bioengineering that will improve our understanding of fundamental processes and our ability to treat human diseases such as neurological disorders, cardiovascular disease, infectious diseases, diabetes, and cancer.

This website will provide much of the information that will help you navigate through your graduate studies and to complete your degree successfully. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us or one of our graduate administrators. We are here to help you along your journey.

We wish you success and a stimulating time at LMP!
