Course Description: This seminar/reading and conference course is an interactive course designed to provide graduate students a basic understanding of tissue injury, repair and regeneration processes in major body tissues. Each week, we will invite leading guest speakers to present a seminar on their respective field of research related to tissue injury, repair and regeneration. The Invited Speaker will present a seminar on his/her research for 1 hr. The Invited Speaker/Professor is also asked to choose one to two (1-2) current papers on his/her topic, and the students present and discuss the selected papers during the next 1 hour with guidance from the mentor (guest speaker). This will include student presentation(s) of 15-20min each, followed by 40 minutes discussion/question under the guidance of the mentor.
Format: Weekly lectures, student presentations, and discussion.
Evaluation: 40% Oral presentation; 20% Class participation; 40% Term paper
